There are a few things to try and they're mentioned here - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Hello Only that one disk, but its only the lead out that fails at 99% Could it be the "old" Optiarc 7170S that is the problem? Cdburnerxp burned without any errors.. but the disk still failed to load in my car.. I can view all the files on both computers i have here, but that is possible without lead out.. yes?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 You can't really tell anything if you've only burnt 1 disc. Burn another and see if it happens again. As for why your car wouldn't read the disc, I don't know. Does it support reading DL discs? Does it support whatever you've written to it in the way you've written it? Yes, if a drive can't finalise the disc properly then it could be hard for other drives to read it. It's pot luck really.

The disk burned with imgburn was read by my car, but at 17.3% it claimed the disk became unreadable.. i tried to reload it 4 times but it still failed. Yes the drive in the car reads DVD+R DL, its navigation updates 3 DL DVD's. I will try burning at 4x now to see if it might be a bad batch of media etc.. i also used pressurized air into the dvd-burner to see if that helps. Update: Burned at 4X, same thing happened : I 15:37:51 Finalising Disc... dbminter Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 It could very well be the age of the drive. I'd kill for a drive that still worked after 5 years! My last Optiarc I just replaced after just under a year. My past Optiarcs usually lasted about 2 years.

Haha.. good point, i just ordered a new Plextor PX-L890SA.. i believe this is a Lite-On clone of some kind with different firmware.. I will try to burn again with this drive and the same software otherwise to confirm if it is the drive or not. Thanks for input
J0lle Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Burned fine with the plextor, old optiarc sucks.. you can close this thread
