Shamus_McFartfinger Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I 22:31:35 Destination Device: [1:0:0] BENQ DVD DD DW1650 BCFC (D:) (ATA) Try a firmware upgrade before doing anything else. Latest version for your drive is BCHC (yours is BCFC) available from http://support.benq.com/files/storage/Firm...DW1650/BCHC.zip
davidw89 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 BCGC is mroe stable, according to the peopel at cd freaks. Dont forget to get that thingy that removes the region code on you dvd burner to all.
volvofl10 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 as per shamus's post above your drive isnt happy writing to that media( it dosnt have a write strategy for the media), but by updating the firmware , the drive should then have a strategy for writing to it after the firmware update. you already have the best media for DL , so youronly option si to alter the drive and its performance, the firmware will do this for you although not directly related, suggest upgrading your O/S to service pack 2
blutach Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 @dvaid98w Either you or me is dyslexic. Regards
ttburn Posted August 19, 2006 Author Posted August 19, 2006 I will try the firmware update and see if that takes care of problem. Thanks for all the help from everyone here.
tropic Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 No expert, but I've found BCDC and BCFC to be much more reliable on the DW-1650 than BCHC, and they contain a decent write strategy for MKM-001. BenQ USA pulled BCHC from their site, but it should be okay for DL burns. Might even want to flash it with BCDC or BCFC again. Off the top of my head: Drive stuck in PIO mode? Another program established exclusive access to the drive? Media contains data from a failed or quickly interrupted burn? Failing IDE cable? Might just want to reboot your machine and try again.
ttburn Posted August 21, 2006 Author Posted August 21, 2006 Flashed drive to BCHC firmware and drive burned the Verb DL disk. Strange that the BCFC firmware would not work. Thanks again for the help.
