stevesmitty79 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Absolute newbie to burning dvds, but not stupid (depends if you ask the wife). I downloaded a torrent that came in two files, a 7.9 gig iso and a much smaller mds. Once I realized Windows DVD Maker or DVD Flick did not support these, I found imgburn on a few related searches, so I took the plunge. I bought a pack of Kodak dvd+r doubles, only to just read how crappy some of them are. Maybe so. I ran imgburn (several times now, same failure) after reading a few of the guides, selected write, picked the file and ran it. All seemed to go well and the first 100% completed. On the second run, it stops around the 50% mark and gives the following: I/O error! Device[2:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40N MC00 (D:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 28 00 00 1B 77 60 0A 00 00 03 3E 11 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Unrecovered Read Error You've probably seen this a million times. Not. Any ideas, link to the right guide, etc.??? Thanks.

Cynthia Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I 10:58:29 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x Try a lower speed than the current 8x. Those discs with that media code is very often seen as posted "bad burns" in this forum. Try with some better quality media.
