Matshita Bluray Burner issue

Hi all i have a Toshiba Satellite A500 with a Matshita BD-MLT UJ240ES burner...

 

I have Verbatim BD-RE DL 50gb discs and when i load an .iso this is all i get...

So i thought i would try and erase the disc to see if that was the issue and i get this???

can anyone please help???

 

ADDIT: So i just called Toshiba support and they are saying it was made in 2009 and BD-DL technology wasnt available then and no update for the firmware is available and im SOL.

 

But i have read elsewhere people can at least get this drive to read a DL disc - mine comes up as empty drive?????

 

The reason i purchased DL discs was based on NERO INFO TOOL SEE IMG BELOW
