RossUpdoc Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I have tried to find a step-by-step instruction for burning a data cd on cd-r. I have tried this three times. Twice the verify stage ended up with "Ohh Nooo!" One time it seemed to write OK but when I tried to read the disk in the same computer that I used to burn the disk. The windows explorer showed "Not responding" after waiting forever. I also tried using cd-rw disks with 700mb. The data I was burning was jpg photos. Around 500mb on a 700mb disk. I am using a dell inspiron 1720 with a TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632H D400 (ATA) burner. The log of the burn read: I 15:19:29 Verifying Track 1 of 1... One of the disks was Maxell. The rest of the disks were Office Depot. I even tried the disks in a 2012 Acer with a faster processor. Windows explorer did not timeout. Very slowly it showed me the jpg icons but it was not able to open the jpgs and show me the photos. If you can point me toward some simpler directions, I hate to take your time trying to teach me all about this. I couldn't get any results on your search engine. I looked at other internet websites, and it looked like I was doing what they said. I don't think all these disks are bad, and I know your software is doing the right thing. I think I must be the weak link.

Hope this will help you see what I am doing wrong. Question: If an "image" is being copied/burned to the disk, should I be able to look at the photos without doing something else to this image?? When I use Easy-Mode Picker to "write files to disk" is this actually done by first creating a disk image and then copying this image to the disk? OR ... am I actually coping the individual files and folders to the disk with your software? Thanks again. ross
ianymaty Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Maybe the last firmware update will help. Try again after install it. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before attempt to update the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1469-file_TS-L632H_FW_D700.zip.html Cleaning the drive lens may also help.
