mafutha
It seems that I keep getting the error message about this driver. Problem is it isn't installed on my system. It was removed and I still get the message. Plus I haven't got any program that uses it either. I have read ALL the messages about the problem on the forum but none deals with this particular problem. Any help would be appreciated.
LIGHTNING UK!
I guess it wasn't removed properly then - the SPTD registry key is still present. 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sptd' shouldn't exist if it's not on the system.
dbminter
Speaking of the SPTD, does Slysoft's Virtual CloneDrive also install it? I had Alcohol 52% installed on my system, which I know uses it, then uninstalled it in favor of VCD. ImgBurn still returns the log line about SPTD, so, I guess the driver is also installed by VCD. But, could it be left over from Alcohol? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
LIGHTNING UK!
No, it's not used / installed by VCD. Uninstalling Alcohol / DT doesn't remove SPTD. You have to run the standalone SPTD installer to uninstall it - and you can get that from the Duplex Secure website.
mafutha
Yep it was there but it won't let me delete the SPTD key. Give me an "error while deleting" message. I guess it wasn't removed properly then - the SPTD registry key is still present. 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sptd' shouldn't exist if it's not on the system. LIGHTNING UK!
Try installing it again via the standalone installer, reboot, then uninstall it again. They set funny permissions on the registry key so things can't mess with it.
mafutha
Thanks. That finally worked. Try installing it again via the standalone installer, reboot, then uninstall it again. They set funny permissions on the registry key so things can't mess with it.
