no Access to just burned DVD Data

Recommended Posts

Hello,

excuse my ask and expression of the topic aboce for this request. (my English is not best - and I do not know how to describe my problem)

I bought an external DVD Burner from LG end of January 2012, because my interal laptop burner is tending to be out of order. This is connected via Y- USB 2.0 cables (2 in Laptop, one in burner)

So.

Everything works fine with burnin with IMBurn now .

But finished my DVD it is not ejected automatically after burning ( => will I need to set this in settings? => then where is th option).

So, when I try to open the successful burned DVD with my Filemanager (Total Commander and also MS File explorer - i get presented the directory and file information of the last read (inserted before) CD/DVD -

but of course I cannot open any file.

Hexvalues of content are 00 00 00 00 00 - yes, that "shown" DVD is not in drive - so it cannot show the content of the file.

Ejecting the DVD and reload of the file or Refreshing with F5 do not have any effect.

The directory and files I see are NOT the new but the old files I accsessed a session before.

HOW can I make visible & accessable the Data which I just burned?

(NERO just opened and ejected the DVD; I put it in again and could access the files normally - WHY DOES THIS NOT WORK WITH Imgburn in equal way?)

(Two times I burned in panic twice the same constallation of project file without closing IMGburn or chaning anything in that program to ensure all Data are burned correctly. inserting the DVD before or a new SOMETIMES (not all the time) leads to correct content of selected DVD)

WHAT Do I need to change, to access the JUST BURNED DVD after Burning without getting a DJ :D ?

(I want to play the just burned videos or compare the files before putting the DVD into cupboard to all the others)

MANY THANKS !!!!!!

I hope someone can help ?

Do you verify when you burn?

Assuming the verify operation completed successfully, your disc should be fine.

(Post a log please - as per the pink box up the top :chair: )

If Windows can't see the disc has changed you may need to close ImgBurn and refresh the 'Explorer' ('My Computer') window so it checks the disc again. Ejecting + reinserting the disc whilst doing that make Windows realise it needs to check the disc again.

So...

all worked fine yesterday with that DVD,

but next time I burn, I first need the burn Mode (CTRL+Shift+B ) - then click "burn",

2) after finish burning I need Verify mode (CTRL+Shift+V )

in order to get access (viewing current DIR, open files, etc.) to the previous empty and now filled (burnd) DVD dics?

Is it that what you mentioned?

Going by that screenshot, 'Auto Insert Notification' (MCN) is indeed disabled on your PC.

You don't need to disable MCN itself, doing that causes more harm than good. Windows uses it to detect changes to the drive's status/discs.

All you need to do is disable Autoplay if you're worried about discs auto running and giving you viruses.

What kind of dodgy places are you getting your discs from anyway to have to worry about such things?!

As my 'Location' (left column of my posts) states, I'm from the UK.
