Coolquis1997 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I keep getting the Can not format medium error. I don't know if it is my standard dvd burner or just my shitty memorex discs. This is the log. I dont think it is too old. I recently download WWE 12, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Fight Night Champion and they all ran fine. Would it be best for me to just download old 360 games for now?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I linked you to the firmware updates. They're what you're supposed to have tried installing/updating and not lightscribe software - which has nothing to do with anything. I 15:01:07 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) Like I said before, you drive is too old to support the 'RITEK-S04-66' MID/dye discs you're trying to use. It has nothing to do with what you're trying to burn onto them.

BTW i that error is from the YH14 download. The YH33 says it can not find any matching drives
Coolquis1997 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) When i try to burn Xbox 360 games with the Memorex dvd'd i first get the "Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed" "Reason:Invalid Field in CDB." After i hit continue i then an I/O error. This is quite weird because the Verbatim games work fine and I used to burn PS2 games on Memorex DVD-R and they worked great also. Here is my log. ianymaty Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Maybe the firmware update will solve the problem. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1588-file_sp36590.exe.html If the problem persist, you should stick to whats working.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Deja vu! (Topics now merged) As we've already been though this, you know that your drive is too old to support the discs. As it won't accept a firmware update either, your options are limited to... 1. Buying a new drive. 2. Using Verbatim discs.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Sorry, I don't, no. Try the other supported write speeds though, 2.4x might not be the optimal one. If you're having nothing but problems with the RITEK discs, why don't you give in and buy the Verbatim ones that everyone recommends? http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What you're burning is not the problem here, it's the discs you're burning to (or at least *trying* to burn to). There might well be other reasons for buying an iHAS drive - but they're beyond the scope of this forum.
