altich88 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Hi, I'm trying to create a disk image of my old Tomb Raider 2 CD which I believe is mixed-mode. I've tried to create a "bin" image from the CD using ImgBurn, but when I mount the image in Virtual Clone Drive and play the game, the audio is not played like when using the original disk. The same happens when I try to create a new CD with the bin image and play from that, there is no audio. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 The raw BIN file doesn't contain enough info to let Virtual Clone Drive know the audio track exist. You'd need to load the CUE file - which it doesn't support. You can make ImgBurn output a CCD file (in the Settings on the Read tab), you should be able to load that in VCD.
altich88 Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Thanks for your fast reply. I can now hear the music and speech tracks, but it appears that the first 1-2 seconds of each is being missed when played. Any ideas? Thanks.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Ah, that's my fault. IMG+CCD images seem to require pregap data in the data file. The traditional BIN+CUE ones don't as it's generated by the program. I've just changed my code so that the pregaps are included when outputting in CCD compliant image file.
altich88 Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Ah I see that's cool. How would I be able to get a copy of the updated software? Many thanks.
altich88 Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Awesome, thanks for all your help - excellent piece of software.
