Will this autoloader's robotics work with ImgBurn ?

I get this log output when I've tried everything I read herein.

I am looking for a way to use my Bravo unit to read many already burnt discs onto the hard drive. Would like to load up 25 discs, have the robotics and drive read them one by one, imaging them to the hard drive.

Does anybody know any other application to do this function on a PC?

The bravo II is exactly what I have and it worked fine last time I tried it.

Why aren't you using the current set of DLL files... or are you and it's just the wrong SDK version being returned?

Make sure you're using the current version of ImgBurn too.

Oh and of course SP3 for XP has been out for years now.

I've tried a bunch of the more recent versions of ImgBurn and this one is the last I tried.

I took the DLLs from the posting with the Primera setup walk through. Where are the latest 'dll' files you refer to?

I really hate to do anything at all with the OS on this box. Should SP2 work?

btw: The SureThing Labeller works fine with the Bravo box.

When did you take them from it though... today or some time in the past?

I update the DLLs when I notice primera have updated them.

So put ImgBurn v2.5.6.0 on (the current version) and update to the new dlls. Then try again and post a new log.

Oh and yes, SP2 will work fine. I was simply pointing it out as service packs are released to add features and fix general problems / security issues.

Link please? Are the files downloadable from Primera or at your site? I don't know where to look.

Not sure what setting to use for: Device Enumeration Method' So I tried both.

ImgBurn's device enumeration method has nothing to do with the problem. Ideally you'd install SP3 so that the 'Device Interface' option can work though.

It's a Primera DLL function that's failing and it's failing with an error code (503 - 'PTROBOT_INVALID_DRIVE') the SDK documentation doesn't list as one it'll return!

Can you try the 1.29/1.43 firmware update that's available for your Bravo II please.

I have Bravo S/N: 2030800128

The utility: FirmwareDPIIv1.29_1.43.exe

fails with message: "ERROR: No printers of type Disc Publisher II were found ..."

And yet, my Primo DVD disc burning software reports: Disc Publisher on USB001 Communications OK!

Try the Bravo version 1.25 (PC) one instead then please.

If we/you get this working will I be able to copy files from stacks of DVDs to a local hard drive? Does ImgBurn have that option?

Yes you will, with Read mode's 'Batch' option.

I've contacted Primera's developer support asking them in what situation the PTRobot_EnumDrives function would/could return 503. I'll let you know if/when I hear back from them.

In the mean time you might like to try disabling the other drive (DVR-106D) you have in your PC via Device Manager and see if that makes it work.

It looks like your bravo unit connects to the PC via Firewire... is that correct? Does it just have a single connection to the PC?

This unit has two connections. The 4X burner is firewire 1394 and the robotics is usb.

If I had to break down and buy something else, what is your take on the Acronova products. Which one would meet the 'read need' I have outlined before in this thread? What have you tested for batch read operation?

I've got one of their Nimbie USB units. They're the only ones supported by ImgBurn AFAIK. Yes, they work with ImgBurn's Batch Read mode.

I wouldn't worry about that right now though, your robot should work just fine.

Did you try disabling the other CD/DVD drive in your machine via Device Manager like I said? I'm wondering if their DLL isn't just getting confused about the drives in the machine Vs drives in the duplicator.

Yes, right now there is only one DVD burner listed in the 'My Computer' window.

and that is the Primera RW DVR-105 IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device under that drives property.

Upon boot there is an unexplained message that I have to click past use the PC.

"driver info: required version 1.22

Driver not found: Perhaps you need to reboot after install"

No other explanation, the box pops up twice and is gone

In the Device Manager there are 2 1394 Net Adapters:

one is: on VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE Host Contr ...

the other: on Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1...

Both are enabled with no red Xs or anything.

The only Red X in the entire Device Manager is the disabled DVD drive you ask me to disable earlier

I don't like to chase people that provide a free service (support) for developers.

I finally got a reply

They've asked for the debug logs, so I need you to do the following...

1. Load ImgBurn

2. Press the F8 key to enable I/O debug mode (you should see that it has been enabled by looking in the log window).

3. Click Tools -> Search for SCSI / ATAPI devices

4. Click Help -> ImgBurn Logs....

5. Close ImgBurn

You should see a couple of files in the logs folder (from step 4) called PTRobot_Trace.log and PTRobot_Debug.log.

Please zip them up and attach them in your next post.
