Error Changing Book Type for Optiarc AD-7640A DVD+-RW Drive

I am trying to change the book type for my DVD burner to "DVD-ROM" so that my dual layer DVD will play in my Xbox 360.

 

Because I did research, I know that the manufacturer for Optiarc drives is NEC. However, none of the options under the NEC tab in the "Change Book Type" menu work for me. I keep getting the following error message:

 

 

"Invalid Command Operation Code"

 

I have recently updated the firmware to JD06, but I am still getting the same error messages.

 

Has anyone been able to successfully change the book type for their Optiarc DVD drive?

Optiarc AD-7640A JD06 DVD+-RW

If it doesn't support the commands then you're out of luck.

 

In any case, the booktype isn't important for playback in that device.

Ok. If the book type isn't important to play a dvd in the 360, then what do I need to do to make sure that my DL dvd plays?

You shouldn't have to do anything special. Just but your VIDEO_TS folder as per the guides in the 'Guides' section of the forums.

 

If you have a problem with playback, post a log so we can see what you're doing. (as per the pink box up the top )
