Why does the Information tab's function depend on the Auto Calculate option?

It took me a lot of time to find out why the Information tab (esp. the media usage bar) was deactivated after upgrading to 2.5.7.0 . Just after I realized that a downgrade to 2.5.6.0 showed no improvement everything became clear..

 

Q: Why can't you decide to set the Auto Calculate option as a default when installing ImgBurn, if you think you cannot give it up totally?

It's off because every time you add a file or folder to the little 'Source' box (in Standard input mode) it goes through the entire process of calculating everything (possibly prompting the user several times as it goes). The idea is to do what you've got to do and then check the results if you really think you need to.

 

If you need a rough running calculation of compilation size, use Advanced input mode.
