I haven't burned discs since my days using DVD Decrypter and now I'm back. I am unfamiliar with the process of turning mkv files into BD movies ready for my BD player. I am currently using AVS4you to convert my mkv file into BD format. From there, I use ImgBurn to do the rest following this guide:

http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides/blu-ray-copy/260-burn-blu-ray-avchd-using-imgburn

I get to the end and start the burning process, but I get an error. Here is error I get:

I 21:59:49 Device: [4:0:0] HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH14NS40 1.00 (E:) (ATA)

I 21:59:49 Media Type: BD-RE (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)

I 21:59:49 Quick Erase: Yes

I 21:59:49 Erasing Disc...

E 21:59:54 Failed to Erase Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB

E 21:59:54 Synchronise Cache Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB

E 21:59:54 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:04

Again, I am unfamiliar with the BD format. Perhaps someone out there is willing to extend an olive branch? I have no idea what to change to fix this issue. I have already lost 3 discs and they are not cheap : /

Thanks for reading!

So I took a risk and tried again, this time just inserting the BDMV and Certificate folders as opposed to their parent folder. It appears to be working; it states 100% complete, but it has not finishing the process. I am unsure what this means:

Now I got a message that reads,

"Your drive seems to be having trouble initializing the disc that it has just burnt

Until it can, no software will be able to access what's on it

Would you like to try cycling the drive tray again?"

Why did you try and Quick Erase a BD-R in your first post? It failed because it's not something you're supposed to do.

You should install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7.

You should update ImgBurn to the current version - 2.5.7.0 as of this time.

Your drive has produced a bad burn on that disc by the looks of it, try another one. You could also try it at the other 'Supported' write speeds (6x and 8x). If continues to fails, consider buying something other than 'PHILIP-R04-000' MID/dye discs.
