DunxUK Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 This is a new stack of Asda DVD-R 16x discs which I usually have no problems with, however IMGBURN only offers 2x as the available burning speed. My standalone DVD recorder remains happy to burn these at full speed. Any ideas? Many thanks everyone! discinfo.bmp
Cynthia Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 It's not ImgBurn that is only offering the 2x write speed. It's your burner (firmware) that only supports them at 2x. A more "modern" burner should be able to write them at faster speed. A later firmware version might help. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVRTD08A/files.html
DunxUK Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 Hi Cynthia. It makes sense that it is the drive, unfortunately the firmware you kindly provided the link to is not compatible with the drive which makes no sense. I think I am stuck with this! Many thanks
Cynthia Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Try with some "better" media and it should give you the max 8x your burner is capable of. (Verbatims are nice ) The media code UME02 is not very well supported by some burners.
kxkvi Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVRTD08A/files.html Wow.. this is a terrific site! Great stuff, and apparently no advertising; at least not yet. I bookmarked it immediately. I hope it continues to flourish over the years. Regards, Thomas
