toadboy Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I've downloaded the W7 ISO file from Digital River and used the ei.cfg removal utility to create a generic W7 installation disc. I followed the ImgBurn W7 guide but keep getting errors while burning the disc (see Log files). What am I doing wrong? Any information or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! ImgBurn.log
Cynthia Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 There is a later firmware version for that burner KYS4 http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/DW-Q28A/files.html
toadboy Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Thanks, I'll download it now... ...should I change the Write Speed?
Cynthia Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Currently max is forcing it to use 6x. I 15:33:08 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 6x, 8x, 12x, 16xW 15:33:08 Write Speed Miscompare! - MODE SENSE: 22,160 KB/s (16x), GET PERFORMANCE: 8,864 KB/s (6.4x) I 15:33:08 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 8,864 KB/s (6.4x) So you also have 8x, 12x, 16x to try with. Usually 8x might work best.
toadboy Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 OK, will set write speed to 8x... ...also found a 'different' firmware (C0deKing's LiteOn SOHW-1693S KS0B FBDX firmware) not listed at Firmware HQ; any thoughts? http://club.myce.com/f44/liteon-1673s-1693s-fbdx-dual-format-patch-163308/ Thanks!
toadboy Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Success! Set Write Speed to 8x with the new firmware and the drive recovered successfully on the problem file. Thanks!
