JohnRRs Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hi, I am trying to change the book type of an iso image burn I want to do to DVD-ROM(for better compatibility) however I have not been able to. Initially I enter the advanced area and selected samsung then put the drive ID in. However when I went to change the(Change for) setting it said . Unknown (Failed!). Reason. Incorrect command. So I had a look around and found that some people had issue because of old drivers so I updated all the ones I could. It does not let me get to the stage where I can change the setting but it now pops up the following message when I try to perfrom the change: Failed Cannot format medium. Incompatible medium. I am using Verbatim 4x DVD-R DL Log details: I 15:42:55 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 You don't need to do anything for the drive you've got, the program does it automatically. Oh and of course you can only change the book type on DVD+R discs, not the DVD--R ones. Don't buy DVD-R DL discs, always get DVD+R DL instead.
JohnRRs Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 It is for a nav disc and for that they apparently recommend a -r over +r. When I view the discs I tried without doing anything they rear as DVd-r rather than dvd-rom. I guess I could get a few +r to try it
