timmypalgrave Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Can someone help?, I have been using IMGBurn for a while (using DVD Shink to copy and IMGBurn to burn) and the DVDs I've copied have work perfectly, until recently. Most of the DVDs still work but a few have stopped, meaning the DVD player can't read them anymore. Furthermore, my laptop has stopped recognizing any copied DVDs - it used to before. When I put the DVD into the drive, the drive changes (under my computer) from DVD-RW Drive (D:) to CD Drive (D:) and says the disk is empty. Has some security software got onto my computer? The DVDs that used to work are: Serentiy (Universal studios) 40 Year Old Virgin (Universal) Wolf Creek (don't know the studio) The Proposition - Nick Cave's film (don't know the studio). I recently copied Scrubs DVD season 3 a couple of days ago and when I tested the first disk to see if it copied properly it work on my laptop. Now it works ok on my DVD player but not my laptop. So, does anyone know what this means? Cheers, timmy
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 It could be bad media, it could also be that laptop drives are normally pretty shitty - and it's easy to stick your fingers all over the lens. Try running a cleaning disc through it.
timmypalgrave Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 hi lightning, thanx for the reply. I ended up reinstalling the dvd driver and it now works. BTW, you're probably sick of hearing this but great software. I've recommended to everyone i know. cheers timmy
