ramgs Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I replaced the motherboard of my computer. I replaced an Asus P5KC and Windows 7 32 bits. Now I have ASUS P8Z77-V PRO and Windows 7 64 bits. Everything is the same hardware. My burner is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-212D firmware 1.28 Before replacement of motherboard everything works fine. Now I can burn DVD's, but not CD's. Allways end with Scsistatus: 0x02. I tryed with other media with the same results. I tryed the same media with another burner in another computer and works fine. I updated the firmware, updated the drivers (chipset, sata, etc.) and the error persist. I tryed several velocities (AWS, 4x, 10x) with the same result. Any ideas? ImgBurn.log
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Can you try the drive back in another PC? Can you try that other drive in this PC? Your drive is just reporting a 'write error' as it tries to burn the disc. In theory, that can only be caused by your drive/firmware/media combo. Have you tried Taiyo Yuden CDs? They are by far the best.
ramgs Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 My "another" pc is a laptop with a removable drive. So... I can't test this unit in the laptop. But the removable drive (dell drive DVD writer USB 2.0) works fine in the ASUS motherboard. What can I do, however, is try it in Ubuntu on the same machine. This could be a good indicator of something?
ramgs Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Ouch! Same problem in ubuntu. The unit doesn't recognize CD-R's only DVD-R's. =8-(
