DAA Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Registry hack as reported by Tomlinson previously as a fix for this message does not always work. Origin of problem might be in the fact that the DVD Region setting for the drive may not be set properly. To verify and, if necessary, change this setting, click Start, Computer (My Computer in XP), right-click the appropriate drive letter (most likely D:) and select Properties. From the Properties dialog box select the Hardware tab, make sure the DVD drive is currently highlighted and click on the Properties button. Select the DVD Region tab and make sure the correct country is selected and click OK twice to apply the necessary changes.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 No idea what you've been reading but that message means the drive doesn't think there's a disc in the tray. Setting a regional code on the drive isn't going to change that. Your drive has an issue with the disc. Try cleaning it or get another copy and see if that one works.
