Blu ray error when verifying

I burned blu ray folders to a Verbatim BS-R 50 Gb disc. When verifying the disc I received an error message and although I was able to begin playing the disc on the blu ray player after a short while it stopped.

I tried again, this time with a Sony BD-RE in order to avoid another coaster.

Once again, when verifying I received the following message: "Miscompare t LBA:4981984, Offset: 0. Fole:\BDMV\STREAM\00501.m2ts. Device: 0x29. Imgew File: 0x7A. Total errors in Sector: 2036".

I couldn't find a single mention of the word 'miscompare' in the log file you attached.

Ooooops! I cannot understand what heppened. Maybe I sent the wrong file. If this is the case I apologize.

Here is the output in my log with the word miscompare highlighted (BTW, I think it's not true that my drive only support writing at 2k. Actually it supports higher speeds but usually I reduce it to 4 K because on one ocassion I had a problem and you advised me in that way).

Your drive / firmware only supports 'MEI-T01-001' discs at 2x. Sure, it can burn other MIDs at faster speeds, but not that one.

 

Rather than terminating the verify after that first error, it would be good to see what else (if anything) comes up in later sectors - so hit continue/ignore next time rather than abort/cancel.

Yes, I disabled AnyDVD.

I'll follow your advise. I will burn at 2x and, in case the problem appears again I'll continue verifying and I'll post the result.

I did as you requested and I burnt at 2 k. But once again I received miscompare error when verifying. According to your advice I tried to continue the process but after several and continuous miscompare error more the program offered to disregard miscompare error what I did. But then after numberless other read errors I disregarded then too and finally the verifying stopped and I canceled the job. Attached the session log.

I never said to burn at 2x, I said you had no choice but to burn those discs at 2x because that's all your drive supports on them.

 

I don't know why you'd be getting miscompares unless there's something wrong with the disc.

 

The odd few bits/bytes here and there are normally due to faulty RAM but yours doesn't look like that (because almost the entire sector is wrong).

 

Maybe try a full erase/format on the disc (with the default settings) and try again.

 

Oh and turn off 'DVD-RAM/BD-RE FastWrite' in the settings too (on the 'Write' tab).

This time it worked!

There was no problem with the disc, but disabling DVD-RAM/BD-RE Fast Write made the trick.
