LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I said I've never seen a drive that couldn't write BD-RE but could write BD-R.
Adrianvdh Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 No I meant that you can only get BD-RE & BD-ROM drives and you cant get BD-R drives?
Adrianvdh Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Get how crazy is this I have a BD-RE drive and i have never in my life burnt a Bluray Disc
Adrianvdh Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 whould be a good investment if a buy a Pioneer BDR-207M rather or a newer model?
Adrianvdh Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) But should I get the Pioneer BDR-207M instead because is supports BD-XL disc (BD-R TL & BD-R QL) Edited October 4, 2012 by Adrianvdh
Adrianvdh Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) But can you get BD-RE QT media? Oh ok so I shoul rather go with the Liteon and wait until BD-R XL tec becomes mature? Edited October 4, 2012 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The BDXL discs are stupidly expensive... so personally, I wouldn't bother. You ask too many questions that you could find answers to yourself by using Google. Don't be so lazy. and I told you before about editing posts to combine sequential questions / answers. Use the 'Edit' button. There should be no reason for you to have 2 posts in a row like #31 and #32

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Why are you quoting yourself and including things you've never said before in the quote? Forums aren't that hard to use, just get to grips with how the BB code tags work. Stuff between the 'quote' and '/quote' tags goes into the grey quote block.
Adrianvdh Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Because I edited it into my old message and bur it was before you message?! But can you get BD-RE QL media and how much would it cost for BD XL media because i Googled it and I just has BD SL & BD DL media not BD XL media Edited October 4, 2012 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Keep Googling, you have access to exactly the same info I do.
Adrianvdh Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) So can BD-R media be erased? If so but cant this media only be writen once? Edited October 4, 2012 by Adrianvdh
Cynthia Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 BD-R discs can be written to once, whereas BD-RE (Blu-ray Disc Recordable Erasable) can be erased and re-recorded multiple times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc_recordable
Adrianvdh Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) So how come in ImgBurn you can erase BD-R discs? Edited October 5, 2012 by Adrianvdh
Adrianvdh Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) Im very confused! Edited October 5, 2012 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 How can you be confused?! CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R and BD-R *cannot* be erased and therefore you can only write to them once. CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW and BD-RE *can* be erased and therefore you can write to them several times.
Adrianvdh Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) Again, how can you erase BD-R media? CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R and BD-R *cannot* be erased and therefore you can only write to them once. CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW and BD-RE *can* be erased and therefore you can write to them several times. ImgBurn allows it in the erase feature!!! Edited October 5, 2012 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 That's different, it's not erasing it, it's just formats it to enable spare areas and defect management.
Adrianvdh Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) oh so to makes the disc ready for a burn then? Edited October 5, 2012 by Adrianvdh
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 To make it ready for a special type of burn. Normally you wouldn't ever do it.
