bradztheman Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Ive never usually had a problem using imgburn, but recently ive been having problems, which occur 50 percent of the time, not everytime! I go to write files/folder and select a folder with a avi file accompanied with a jpg image file and maybe a notepad note. I do all the correct things, burn it, varify it, and fine, then i go to play it in the dvd player and it te dvd player only shows the jpg image, no other folder or files! I find this very strange as some folders that i burn, is fine and displays the avi file, yet some just disay image file and appears to not have burnt the avi file. Why is this happening??
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 What happens if you look at the disc on your computer? Is the file there? Perhaps your DVD player doesn't support something about the file and that's why it's not showing up?
bradztheman Posted October 28, 2012 Author Posted October 28, 2012 Yes the file is there, my dvd player does support avi files because some folder i burn are exactly the same, they contain an image file (dvd front cover) and an avi file. Really cant get my hea around it
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 AVI is just a container, the content could have been compressed with various codecs and maybe it doesn't support what's being used in that one - that's the point I was making. What name do you see for the files (that *are* visible) when you look at them on your player? How do they correspond to the original names you see on your computer? Are they the same length? Same case (upper/lower etc) ? What if you rename the video file to something else? Perhaps keep it to the old ISO9660 8.3 character format (XXXXXXXX.YYY) just for testing. What if you don't burn the other 2 files and just add the video file? Assuming your player supports them, burn to CD-RW / DVD-RW / DVD+RW so as to not waste discs during testing. Basically, you've got a ton of testing to do. It's not something I can help you with. Just try loads of different things until you figure out what stops it from being visible on the player.
