aface Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I have an ISO from a family wedding that is ~6.5gb. I've burned it with ImgBurn at least 3 times before (and with other programs) without any problems - and at least once today already. However now, when I try to burn it to DVD I get the popup as shown below. Is this a bug? something I can get around? I dont have the original anymore and the file has never been changed, not even moved in the folder. I have tested the hard drive and no bad sectors were found, but now when I play the dvd that came up with this popup, its barely playable.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Without knowing more details, it's hard to give you a precise answer. It doesn't normally show that prompt without a good reason though. Please copy + paste all of the disc info from the box on the right. You are using DVD+R DL discs and not DVD-R DL ones yeah? If so, mount the image in a virtual drive program (Virtual CloneDrive etc) and build a new one by pointing 'Build' mode at the virtual drive. Or you could extract the contents of the ISO to a folder on your hdd with something like WinRAR / 7zip and build a new one from that folder.
aface Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Seeing as this is before the burn, i didnt think the media mattered. If it does that's probably a good indicator that's what the problem could be. I thought this popup was ISO based only. I've just moved to mexico and bought "Verbatim" as I usually do in the UK but it ended up being Sony branded. this is the media info; TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632H D400 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Empty State of Last Session: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 4,173,824 Free Space: 8,547,991,552 bytes Free Time: 927:32:74 (MM:SS:FF) Next Writable Address: 0 MID: MBIPG101-R10-65 Supported Write Speeds: 3x, 4x DVD±R DL Boundary Information: L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,086,912 Changeable: Yes Physical Format Information (ADIP - L0): Disc ID: MBIPG101-R10-65 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Physical Format Information (ADIP - L1): Disc ID: MBIPG101-R10-65 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded - L0): Disc ID: MBIPG101-R10-65 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded - L1): Disc ID: MBIPG101-R10-65 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Performance (Write Speed): Descriptor 1... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 4173823 (0x003FAFFF) -> RS: 8,310 KB/s (6x) - WS: 4,155 KB/s (3x) Descriptor 2... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 4173823 (0x003FAFFF) -> RS: 8,310 KB/s (6x) - WS: 5,540 KB/s (4x)
