Dreaded L-EC Uncorrectable Error on verify

I'm using DVD shrink and trying to burn the image files. I tried twice with imgburn, and both times the burn seemed to go fine, but the verify failed at around 89% of the way through. I'm using Sony DVD-R disk, and Lite-on drives. My computer and the two drives are less than a year old, and I tried the burn process on each of the Lite-on drives. The verify failed both times. I did scan the forum but could find no obvious hits. Also looked at the FAQ. The drives are so new that I can't believe both are dirty or need cleaning. It's burning at near 16X. Would slowing that down help? If so, can I adjust the speed using imgburn? Log is below. Any ideas would help.

Thanks,

Sam

8X did the trick! It worked fine with that. I'll stick with that setting in the future.

However, I wondered, do you have any idea whether those DVDs I already burned with the bad sectors would still play in a DVD player? I did try playing one, and I jumped around in a bit, without hitting any obvious issues. Of course, I may have just missed the bad sectors. Would you expect that at some point you would get drop outs, or the DVD would hang or something, while you were watching the film?

Thanks for the help,

Sam
