Problems when attempting to write discs

Sorry if i've posted in the wrong area, I'm a newbie lol, I have a (as device manager says) HL DT ST DVD+RW GA10N external USB writer, and when I'm attempting to write a disc image to CD, the program reports that the drive to all intents and purposes has been removed and fails to write, I've attached a log file from the program, can anyone help with this annoying problem?

Something about your USB drive and USB chipset combo is causing the early timeout that then leads to the drive going offline.

 

Some just don't work very well together.

 

I don't know of any quick fix, sorry.
