Dual Layer burn failure with imgburn and verbatim

Recommended Posts

Posted

I tried burning a dual layer disc using imgburn and verbatim dual layer disc as suggested, but at 47% i got this error. I dont know if I am doing anything wrong. Can anybody please help me with this.

Previoulsy I had tried with nero and verbatim and those were complete failures. With imgburn it has been a 50 - 50 burn -failure ratio. Some burn ok and some fail. I cant put a finger on it. Somebody even suggested i Could have a driver clash with Nero InCD. I even checked and ensured that nero InCd is not installed.

I have enclosed the log of the latest failure I have encountered.

I dont wanna burn anymore till I know what I am doing wrong.

Thanx in advance...

Are those used discs really sold as Verbatims?

Posted (edited)

Verbatim (MKM) did outsource some to Moser Bayer India (MBIP). That's why its important to make sure your verbs are Singapore made.

you mean I should search for "made in singapore" verbatims here in india. So it a cause with the disc and not with the process or the writer?

You might try burning at slower speed or try another brand, but MBIP disks are not historically quality media. MKM uses AZO technology for the dye on their disks that make them superior.

This time I tried lowering the speed to AWS and this is the error that I got. It wrote the disc, but while verifying sectors it failed. Should I lower the speed to 2x or 4x and try again?

AWS isn't a speed, it's a feature - that you have to configure.

All you've done there is burn another disc at max speed.

Buy the real Verbatim discs with the MKM-003-00 MID.
