MrGuttz Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 When I burn a disc using imgburn, i have no problem playing it on my home dvd players, but when I try to play it on my Polaroid PDM-0723 I keep getting "bad disc". Can anyone tell me if I am setting something up incorrectly. Thanks, Keith
blutach Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Chances are your polaroid doesn't like the media. Regards
MrGuttz Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 does that mean try other brands of disk or different type ? Keith
blutach Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Other brands - what media are you using? Whats the MID Code? Regards
polopony Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 could be a couple of things the media that you use for one, the player doesn't like it BTW what are you using? you could also try to change your media (+ format ) to dvd rom if your dvd burner supports changing the booktype settings . if you have a log of the burn that would help a lot it would answer the above questions . I burn to Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs and havent found a player that doesn't like them
MrGuttz Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 I use either TDK DVD-R or Sony DVD+R. These disks both have an RW on them.
kevdriver Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Mr Guttz, are you sure that portable player is compatible for playing RW discs? I think it might only play DL and SL -R or +R discs correctly. What does the manual say, any mention of RW discs or just ones with the DCD Video emblem, which might mean it won't reconize the RW's your using.
MrGuttz Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 The TDK is DVD-R, it doesn't have a RW logo, but the SOny DVD+R does have an RW. What does the RW mean, the disc isn't listed as erasable. Keith Mr Guttz, are you sure that portable player is compatible for playing RW discs? polopony Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 it supports everything but RAM "CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R, CD" you'll have to find a media thats compatible with that player .Some can be picky about what they will and wont play
MrGuttz Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 Thanks for the help. Good night, Keith
