tharindre Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I've two DR-RW Drives I did run Two Instances of ImgBurn to Burn 2 Discs @ 2x Speed But Both Drives Writing Speed drops to 0.7x ~ 0.8x and continue.. Some times it's raised up to 2x on each for minuite or two but again drops! Hint's That will help you to get an idea System Performance ➨ Media Is RITEK BD-R ( Can Burn steady 2x speed when burning single disc) ➨ I can get 4x Reading Speed on each drive on same time and Saving Both Images to HDD (1:2) (Average 3.5x at least) Resource Monitor:: ➨ When reading or writing discs CPU load is low than 10% all time (There's no extra running services other than Virtual Drive & ESET) ➨ When Burning Both BD-R Discs Drives (1:2) Queue Length is lower than 1 (In most time it's 0.1) ➨ Total Disc I/O is lower than 10MB/s (Actually it's only showing I/O of Reading Images, no any other load except few KB/s of system usage) Q's ➊ Is that two instances share given maximum speed(2x) on whole application instances?? As i run samesame application that will contain same drivers files twice?? ➋ Do i need to run two copies of ImgBurn files?? Just Wondering why my PC won't burn Both Discs at steady 2x ? Coz There's no any significant load on any System Resource event!! Where's my Bottleneck?? System Intel Dual Core 3.0 Ghz 4GB DDR3 Memory VGA GT240 1GB DDR3 Windows 7 x64 Edition SATA 1:1 - System SATA 1:2 - Image Storage SATA 2:1 - HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08LS20 Firmware 2.0 SATA 2:2 - HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08LS20 Firmware 2.0
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 If the buffers are empty, it can't get enough data (quickly enough) from your hdd.
tharindre Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Thank you for supporting Yes, I think it's happening! I've had enabled graph, but got program to open it today These are two graphs when multiburning https://dl.dropbox.com/u/85753075/ibg%20logs/HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BH08LS20_2.00_THURSDAY-JANUARY-10-2013_3-09_PM_RITEK-BR2-000_2x.ibg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/85753075/ibg%20logs/HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BH08LS20_2.00_THURSDAY-JANUARY-10-2013_3-02_PM_RITEK-BR2-000_2.4x.ibg This is Single 4x Burning https://dl.dropbox.com/u/85753075/ibg%20logs/HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BH08LS20_2.00_FRIDAY-JANUARY-11-2013_2-58_PM_RITEK-BR2-000_4x.ibg So what can i do to avoid this?? Plug BD-RE Drives On Separate SATA Channels will solve it? (Ex. 1:1 & 2:1) I can read 2 discs from ( 2:1 & 2:2) & Write to same HardDisc Partition (1:2) in average 3.6x speed.. So why i can't read back at 2x speed?? Cheers
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 See if enabling the 'Always use buffered I/O' option in the Settings on the I/O tab makes any difference. Ideally you'd be reading each image from a different physical hdd.
tharindre Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 What if i use multiple configure to make 2 exact clones? Is there any way to synchronized read & burn to both drives? Then Hard Disc may need to read once.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 They're totally independent processes and ImgBurn can only use (Read from / Write to) 1 optical drive at a time.
tharindre Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Thank you for all support! I'll try it with buffered I/O tomorrow. If i got any progress i'll let it know here!
