Frodoboy Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Hi there Please help me out guys. I have been struggling writing dvd's. I use DVDflick to convert .avi files to dvd. When I use imgburn to write to disc, I always get the error below. Firmware is up to date. I also sometimes get an I/O error. I use Verbatin DVD-R 16x discs. I used to write with Nero, but that also fails lately. When wwriting cd's using Media Player everything works fine. Here is my log: I 21:40:25 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! Cynthia Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Perhaps cleaning the laserhead with a cleaning disc could help. Guess the same problem if you try with 8x as write speed?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Try at 8x if 4x isn't working (2x isn't even an option). Your version of ImgBurn is mega out of date too. EDIT: Snap
Frodoboy Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 I'm gonna try all of the advice you guys gave me and come back to you. Thanks
Frodoboy Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 Okay, I updated to the new 2.5.7 version, and I have cleaned my lens, I've changed my writing speed to 4x as well as 8x. After failing a couple of times (I reinserted the same disc a couple of times) I decided to try a new disc and it worked. Thanks guys, you rock. Now my question is, although the discs I have already tried and failed with shows they are blank, can I use them again?
Cynthia Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 The lead-in part was written so no. If you try to burn with it - ImgBurn will not high light the burn (start) button.
Cynthia Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 What is the Lead-in part? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_disc_authoring#Lead-In http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Glossary/Details.aspx?TermId=433
