Erasing Disk

I just installed the software....Ready to burn my first DVD. It told me it needed to format my DVD...I said ok.........It went thru steps until it gets to erasing disk. It has been 30 minutes plus and its stuck there. ????

 

If I try to exit, it says Sorry..you cannot cancel this operation.

 

What happened?? It shouldnt take this long.

Assuming the program is getting the correct status codes back from the drive and the drive doesn't have a big problem with the disc you're using, the drive should take about 15 minutes to format a DVD at 4x.

 

The program is doing nothing more during this 'formatting' time than polling the drive (once per second) to see if it has finished.

 

Try the D500 firmware for your drive and see if it does a better job.
