vze2mp9g Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I know this might have been asked in the past, but I'm trying to make a bootable DVD from a Windows 8 install disk. I copied all the files from the Win8 installation disk to the HDD, took a few files I didn't need out, and added a couple of my own. Now, I have all the files I want to make a bootable DVD from on my HDD (D:\Windows8\ ), can someone tell me when I go to write all the files to an ISO file, I checked off "Make Image Bootable", then I go to write the ISO, now it's asking me for a "You have not selected a file to act as a boot image!". Where would I find this boot image file on the Windows 8 installation disk? Lastly, is it possible to take an ISO file and, instead of writting to a disk, you would write the ISO to files on your disk, so that you can modify the ISO? I would appreciate it if anyone can assist me concerning this matter. Thank You. if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything...___________________________________________OS: Windows 7 x32 Ultimate V6.01 Build 7601 Service Pack 1||MoBo: ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe || CPU: Socket 478 for Intel® Pentium® 4 (Northwood) 3.00GHz [D1]|| Ram: 2GB of 400MHz Dual DDR RAM (Corsair)GPU: Radeon HD4650 2Gb || Monitor: Acer H274HL (HDMI) || HDD: 1Tb Western Digital Black Drive || DVD ROM: SONY DVD RW DRU-830A ATA Device || Blu-Ray DVD ROM: LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE GBW-H20L
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 This guide should still apply to Windows 8. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=11194 You can usually extract ISO files using normal compression programs - WinRAR, WinZip, 7-Zip etc.
