JS1410 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I cannot change the "Book Type" on my LG WH14NS40 Blu-ray drive. I am using Verbatim DVD+R (DL) media. Everytime I try to change to "DVD-ROM" from "DVD+R DL" I get the error message "Failed - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB" What am I doing wrong? LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The LG tab works just fine for me with a BH16NS48. If it really doesn't work, maybe it's due to the firmware your WH14 is running - or the controller it's attached to.
JS1410 Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Still get the same error. I cannot change the "Book Type". Everytime I try to change to "DVD-ROM" from "DVD+R DL" I get the error message "Failed - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB" The LG WH14NS40 drive was updated to the latest version of firmware 1.00-N1 before I ran ImgBurn. The LG drive is connected to an ASUS P8Z77-I motherboard with an Intel i5 3.5GHz processor, 16 GB of RAM and Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64. All software and firmware is up-to-date. I have never had a problem with this LG drive it reads and writes everything like a champ. No problems with other aspects of ImgBurn - I just cannot change the "Book Type".
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Right click the drive selection box and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and then copy + paste everything from the Log window please.

JS1410 Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 It must be something in your software or the drive itself, because I connected a Samsung external (USB) DVD writer/drive that I use for my ultra-book, and was easily able to change the "Book Type". Drive Info: SAMSUNG Model SE-S084F/RSBS Black External CD/DVD Drive I 13:47:04 -> Drive 2 - Info: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SE-S084F TS00 (K:) (USB) It seems to be working... I am burning a DVD now. I will post again if does not work. However, you may wish to look into the compatiblity with the LG WH14NS40 drive.
