Step by step?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been trying for days to learn how to burn a movie to a dvd(to play on a dvd player), I've had no success. I have tried many different dvd burners, just can't figure it out. Does anyone have a step by step, detailed on how to burn a movie on to a dvd? I also have tried converting the movie file; from avi to vob, etc.

 

I hope someone can help me.

Try this program to convert the avi to compliant DVD Movie format. There is also a nice guide.
