laminaat Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) During the finalization of burning a 360 game I encountered a warning: W 18:48:02 Finalise Disc Failed! - Reason: No Write Current W 18:48:02 Retry Failed - Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format After trying retry without much effect I just let it finish and verify the burn directly afterwards, this was a success. I'm now unsure what went wrong with the burn and am hoping someone can explain. Using some Google-foo I did find out that it could have something to do with my burner because laptop ones are deemed shit. I used Verbatim dvd+r dl from Signapore, so that shouldn't be a problem. This burner did achieve a good burn (no warnings/errors and positive verification) just a few hours earlier with another game. I'm only buring xgd2 games so I shouldnt need special firmware for my burner. edit: I tried the disk in my xbox, as expected it didn't work. I'm still curious to hear what the probable problem is though . This was the log I got with the burn: I 18:02:51 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 When finalisation fails, it sometimes means certain drives won't be able to recognise the disc. That doesn't appear to be an issue for your burner (the one that then verified the disc), but it might be useless in another drive. If you get the same issue on lots of burns, you should think about getting another drive. Failing that, just ignore it.
