xt5160 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) I tried to write files to a DVD-R and a DVD+RW, but both times the disk was unreadable in both the computer it was written with and another. Windows shows 0 bytes data and 0 bytes free, exactly the same as a blank disk. Verify completed both times with ImgBurn saying the write was verified. The DVD spun up and wrote for the expected time. The DVD-R has the expected visible difference of the expected size (3.8 G data). ImgBurn in discovery mode reads data from both disks, and AFAIK the binary data is the same as the file (only checked the first sector). Discovery mode also shows that the disk is not empty. I'm using defaults as installed. Hardware is HP/Compaq 6730b laptop with XP3. Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50L SC04-02 (D:) (ATAPI) Any clues? Edited April 3, 2013 by xt5160
