arunbab Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 After recording dvd folder and closing session an error poped up in verify saying IO error. unable to recover Toc IN Imgburn. The disc is dvd rw disc and disc vendor is Moserbaer. cd/dvd rom/rw drive LG GSA H55N Firmware version 1.06 driver details provider Microsoft Driver date : 21-06-2006 Driver version : 6.1.7601.17514 Whenever this disc(dvd rw) is inserted the error msg comes "windows cannot format this kind of disks and insert different disks and try again" In Device manager the file system for the drive G is showing raw primary partition with 4.38 gb which is the capacity of the dvd disk.I bought a spindle but disappointed that it is not usable in my drive.Firmware is upgraded which is 1.06 latest version. All these occured after burn. Before I start burn the disk is readible and showing 4.38 G free. Below is the log and also uploaded the same for the convenience. The disk is dvd rewritable,is there any way to reuse it in other external/internal dvd drives and devices for writing data again. Since the disk is not readible in the above mentioned drive, I am unable to apply any tool to fix it and reformat the disk. When I try to format the disk by device manager got error msg " An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom0 during a paging operation." No burning software was not able to read the disk and erase/format disk. Even when I inserted a blank dvd rw disk , VSO burning software says disc is not empty and will be erased if continue. The dvd rw disc I am using is a branded Moserbaer one and cannot be a low quality media. Once again I stress "The disk is dvd rewritable,is there any way to reuse it in other external/internal dvd drives and devices for writing data again." log I 16:08:03 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started!I 16:08:03 Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)I 16:08:03 Total Physical Memory: 3,014,008 KB - Available: 2,108,972 KBI 16:08:03 Initialising SPTI...I 16:08:03 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 16:08:04 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.06-08 (G:) (ATA)I 16:08:04 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!I 16:09:22 Operation Started!I 16:09:22 Device: [0:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.06 (G:) (ATA)I 16:09:22 Media Type: DVD+RW (Disc ID: MBIPG101-W04-00)I 16:09:22 Media Supported Write Speeds: 4xI 16:09:22 Quick Erase: NoI 16:09:22 Format Properly: YesI 16:09:22 Format Size: PreferredI 16:09:22 Erasing Disc...I 16:25:14 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:15:51I 16:25:15 Operation Started!I 16:25:15 Building Image Tree...W 16:25:15 Skipped Filtered File: C:\Users\Others\Documents\ConvertXtoDVD\Skyfall [2012] - Tripple Audio [Hindi-English-Tamil] - x264 AAC Chapters - MSubs @ Jayp53 ~{HKRG}~\VIDEO_TS\Sample Videos1.c2cI 16:25:46 Checking Directory Depth...I 16:25:46 Calculating Totals...I 16:25:46 Preparing Image...I 16:25:46 Checking Path Length...I 16:25:46 Contents: 10 Files, 2 FoldersI 16:25:46 Content Type: DVD VideoI 16:25:46 Data Type: MODE1/2048I 16:25:46 File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.02)I 16:25:46 Volume Label: Skyfall [2012] - Tripple Audio [Hindi-English-Tamil] - x264 AAC Chapters - MSubs @ Jayp53 ~{HKRG}~I 16:25:46 IFO/BUP 32K Padding: EnabledI 16:25:46 Region Code: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8I 16:25:46 TV System: NTSCI 16:25:46 Size: 3,625,265,152 bytesI 16:25:46 Sectors: 1,770,149I 16:25:46 Image Size: 3,625,844,736 bytesI 16:25:46 Image Sectors: 1,770,432I 16:26:03 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:00:48I 16:26:03 Operation Started!I 16:26:03 Source File: -==/\/[bUILD IMAGE]\/\==-I 16:26:03 Source File Sectors: 1,770,432 (MODE1/2048)I 16:26:03 Source File Size: 3,625,844,736 bytesI 16:26:03 Source File Volume Identifier: Skyfall [2012] - Tripple Audio [Hindi-English-Tamil] - x264 AAC Chapters - MSubs @ Jayp53 ~{HKRG}~I 16:26:03 Source File Volume Set Identifier: 42848327001B03BDI 16:26:03 Source File Application Identifier: IMGBURN V2.5.7.0 - THE ULTIMATE IMAGE BURNER!I 16:26:03 Source File Implementation Identifier: ImgBurnI 16:26:03 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.02)I 16:26:03 Destination Device: [0:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.06 (G:) (ATA)I 16:26:03 Destination Media Type: DVD+RW (Disc ID: MBIPG101-W04-00)I 16:26:03 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4xI 16:26:03 Destination Media Sectors: 2,295,104I 16:26:03 Write Mode: DVDI 16:26:03 Write Type: DAOI 16:26:03 Write Speed: 4xI 16:26:03 Link Size: AutoI 16:26:03 Lock Volume: YesI 16:26:03 Test Mode: NoI 16:26:03 OPC: NoI 16:26:03 BURN-Proof: EnabledI 16:26:04 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 5,540 KB/s (4x)I 16:26:04 Book Type Setting: N/AI 16:26:05 Filling Buffer... ianymaty Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Try it in other drive. Your drive seems to not like it.
arunbab Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 even though the disk is rw , windows is not recognizing the disc capacity but there will be a rw icon, says cannot format this kind of disks and insert different disks and try again. My question is if I try this in other drive whether the disk will be recognized or this disk is already corrupt.I have to make decision before the purchase of a slim external drive with Power2go software.
ianymaty Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 It's your decision but slim drives aren't the best choice as is suggested here http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
