Hey LIGHTNING UK! could you tell me what in your opinion would be better the...

 

Sony Optiarc 5280S-CB-ROBOT

 

 or

 

Sony Optiarc 5280S-CB-PLUS

 

for general overburning DVD +R DL discs

or tell me what the big difference is

 

"Most of the features that make this drive special are also available with the Optiarc 5280S-CB-PLUS drive." you said, so would they basically be the same? or is the ROBOT a better pick that the PLUS ?

The robot one is meant to have some 'extended tray eject' feature enabled. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

 

Just buy whatever's easiest / cheapest to get hold of.

Oh ok so the ejection tray I don't need to worry about because its just a tray that ejects WTF

The 'extended' tray eject feature just makes the tray come out a few mm extra - useful for when the drive is in an autoloader (so the robot arm can pick up the disc more easily).
