anglik24 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Windows7 Im getting this error using ihas 524 B drive trying to burn a xdg3 game using Verbatim DVD-DL with BurnerMax Tool (((((Unable To Lock Drive For Exclusive Access)))) I've tried both speeds 2.4x and 4x with proper settings...i even flashed the drive with BurnerMax flash without using BurnerMax Tool...and still exacly the same error. First, the drive is working fine and its brand new. It has the latest firmware. I used it on other program (CloneCD) to burn a xgd2 game and it worked perfecly fine without any problems. Please notice CloneCD is not locking my drive or running in the backround its not showing in Task Manager. I've checked on PROCESS EXPLORER and UNLOCKER. I've checked if any other program is using the drive/is locking the drive, i used Process Explorer and Unlocker. Nothing is locking my drive according to those programs. Ive also checked on Task manager and made sure nothing which can create this error is running. I have latest Nero, DVDFab and CloneCD installed (NOT NERO INCD). The drive is not burning xgd2 backups either using imgburn...the same error. but please note, when i tried other drive on the same PC, it worked fine with ImgBurn, and other programs. The iHAS drive i have the problem with, wasn't used with any other program prior to trying to burn with imgburn. Ive installed it on PC and straight to imgburn. Other drives work fine with imgburn. Ive uninstalled DVDFab, CloneCD. even VLC player and tried it...same error !!! I havent uninstalled Nero but nero is definetly NOT RUNNING and INCD is not installed. I even turned off SideBar, but still no luck. I never had any problems with imgburn and other drives before. The drive works fine with other programs like i mentioned above. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive spend so many nights and hours trying to sort this out.... :-( Edited May 11, 2013 by anglik24
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Right click the drive selection box and click 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and then copy + paste everything from the Log window please. btw, being unable to lock the drive isn't a show stopper, just click 'Continue'. You could also try again when you've booted Windows into 'Safe Mode'.

anglik24 Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 Do i try a burn with safe mode or just see if the error pops out ?? Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Post the log from the failed burn please. Also, try looking for some updated nvidia drivers for your motherboard chipset / OS combo. It makes no sense that it wouldn't be able to lock the drive is everything was working as it should be and nothing else is using the drive. It's quite a low level OS function that's failing.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Turn off 'perform opc before write'. Turn off 'overspeed' on the drive. Re-enable the 'verify' option so you can actually see if the burnt disc is 100% readable. Perform a 'clear opc history' on the drive. When you've done all that, try again.
anglik24 Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) Ok...i'll try that...but every one saying at iHAS XGD3 burning communities that burning at 4x speed "perform opc before write" has to be on. "Overspeed" option has to be enabled and "clear opc history" .... has to be left alone ?????????? Hmmmmm Do i still burn with 4x speed ??? When i tried it to burn at 2.4x speed with "perform opc before write" disabled, the log said that this drive not supporting 2.4x and it burned it at 4x anyways. That was when i tried it to burn with continue option anyway before i came here to this forum. It was a coaster !!!!! I've done it with above settings still getting the "Unable To Lock Drive For Exclusive Access" error ! Do i continue with the burn anyway ??? I really appreaciate you helping me. This is really bogging me !!! Thank You very much Lighting UK anglik24 Edited May 14, 2013 by anglik24
