RhoTrux64 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Right click on the app or the shortcut and click "Run as administrator".
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 You shouldn't have to do anything when using Windows 7. Are you running the program as a normal 'locally' logged on user (not via remote desktop etc) ? And the account is what, a 'Standard' account or an 'Administrator' account? You shouldn't need to elevate either account type, it should just work.
Bazsl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 One one machine only I get the following error when I start ImgBurn. If I run ImgBurn using Run as Administrator everything works. What privileges must I change to get ImgBurn to run without having to Run as Administrator? Thanks.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Why are you making new threads when you already had one that's attempting to deal with your issue?
Bazsl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 My apologies for the duplicate thread. I am new to the forum and could not find my original thread so I thought I had done somethine wrong and the message was not posted. I am running Windows 7 Pro logged on as a user that is a member of the Administrators group. I am running ImgBurn via Remote Desktop. I just tested while logged in directly and I do not get the error. Any suggestions as to how to get ImgBurn to run via Remote Desktop without having to Run as Administrator? Thanks for your help.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Right well you need to allow access to remote desktop users. It's a group policy thing for your machine and nothing to do with ImgBurn itself. Within the installer there's an option called 'Enable SPTI access in Remote Sessions', just enable it. If you want to do it manually, try googling 'AllowRemoteDASD'. That's the registry setting the installer manipulates.
Bazsl Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Thanks. Changing the AllowRemoteDASD registry key solved the problem.
