"The semaphore timeout period has expired" iHas 124C

Hi all, 

 

This issue has been constantly appearing for my last 2-3 burns and I would like to solve it asap. I've searched for the error on Google and have found it's pretty common, have tried various things like power-cycling my drive but nothing has worked for me. I'm trying to burn on Memorex DVD+R DL dvd because all the Future Shops in my area sold out of Verbatim Dual Layer disks. 

 

My external DVD Drive is connected via a USB/SATA converter and I am running a clean install of Windows 8. 

 

Any comments will be highly appreciated and replied to asap.

I forgot to mention that I got this error message when the disk was finalizing at 100%.

I just burned a disk 100% but Nero DiscSpeed gave me a PIF error of 14 and gave me an error message saying " Logical Unit timed out" when I was checking the disc quality on my iHAS 124c drive. Tried installing it to my Xbox HDD but it wouldn't even load the game and said the disk is unreadable, please clean , etc...Really frustrated after having made 4 coasters!

Semaphone timeout issues are usually due to some issue between your usb adapter and the usb controller. Perhaps try another cable / port / adapter.
