Can I change booktypw with a LG BH16NS40?

I have a LG BH16NS40 burner and I can't change booktype on discs to DVD-ROM. I tried the booktype option in the write window and I get a invalid field in CDB. In Setting I checked "auto change booktype" but the discs won't change to DVD-ROM.

 

Also I'm using Verbatim and Tiayo Yuden discs.

 

Does booktyping not work with this model?

The 14 and 16 models use a different chipset to all of the previous LG models. The drive may automatically change the booktype to DVD-ROM. If they don't, you might be out of luck - assuming the LG booktype commands and LiteOn booktype commands both fail?

i was just about to ask the same question, but as always i use the search first. Found this exact topic. The LG commands result in that invalid field message, the LITE-ON commands for me give:

 

current setting: unknown (FAILED!) reason: invalid command operation code

 

so i'm probably out of luck?
