sciwife Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I just burned a dvd using IMGburn and when I try to play it the dvd player says "Disc Error". I've never used IMG before...was using windows dvd burner but found it would not burn everything I wanted to burn. I know my dvd player will play burned dvds so I know that's not the problem. Also...I don't know much about computers and had a hard time following the other posts about this, so, be kind Here's the log I 14:52:55 ImgBurn Version 2.5.7.0 started!I 14:52:55 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)I 14:52:55 Total Physical Memory: 1,958,780 KB - Available: 817,084 KBI 14:52:55 Initialising SPTI...I 14:52:55 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 14:52:57 -> Drive 1 - Info: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20N CT11 (D:) (ATAPI)I 14:52:57 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!I 14:59:47 Operation Started!I 14:59:47 Building Image Tree...I 14:59:59 Checking Directory Depth...I 14:59:59 Calculating Totals...I 15:00:00 Preparing Image...I 15:00:00 Checking Path Length...I 15:00:00 Contents: 1 File, 0 FoldersI 15:00:00 Content Type: DataI 15:00:00 Data Type: MODE1/2048I 15:00:00 File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.02)I 15:00:00 Volume Label: Aladdin.1992.1080p.BluRay.x264.anoXmousI 15:00:00 Size: 1,587,718,140 bytesI 15:00:00 Sectors: 775,253I 15:00:00 Image Size: 1,588,264,960 bytesI 15:00:00 Image Sectors: 775,520I 15:00:06 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:00:18I 15:00:06 Operation Started!I 15:00:06 Source File: -==/\/[bUILD IMAGE]\/\==-I 15:00:06 Source File Sectors: 775,520 (MODE1/2048)I 15:00:06 Source File Size: 1,588,264,960 bytesI 15:00:06 Source File Volume Identifier: Aladdin.1992.1080p.BluRay.x264.anoXmousI 15:00:06 Source File Volume Set Identifier: 42D07777000BD55EI 15:00:06 Source File Application Identifier: IMGBURN V2.5.7.0 - THE ULTIMATE IMAGE BURNER!I 15:00:06 Source File Implementation Identifier: ImgBurnI 15:00:06 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.02)I 15:00:06 Destination Device: [0:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20N CT11 (D:) (ATAPI)I 15:00:06 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: RITEKF1)I 15:00:06 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 8xI 15:00:06 Destination Media Sectors: 2,297,888I 15:00:06 Write Mode: DVDI 15:00:06 Write Type: DAOI 15:00:06 Write Speed: MAXI 15:00:06 Link Size: AutoI 15:00:06 Lock Volume: YesI 15:00:06 Test Mode: NoI 15:00:06 OPC: NoI 15:00:06 BURN-Proof: EnabledI 15:00:06 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 11,092 KB/s (8x)I 15:00:07 Filling Buffer... I didn't think that part mattered.... Thanks in advance for the help!
sciwife Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Okay...just burned a different disc and it will not play either, so now I know it has nothing to do with the blueray issue........Somebody help please
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 If you're trying to burn a DVD video disc, you need to convert your video file to DVD video format using something like DVD flick or convertxtodvd.
sciwife Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Why would windows dvd maker be able to burn without converting first? Sorry, like I said, I really don't know much about this stuff.....Which program do you suggest for converting? Obviously I need the one thats easiest to use Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It probably is converting it. Look at what you're adding to Windows DVD Maker and then see what's actually on the disc once it has been burnt. If the 2 aren't exactly the same, you know it's doing something else in the background (i.e. some sort of conversion).
