Alright, for the past few days, I've been trying to change the book type of a DVD+R, but everytime I do it, imgBurn tells me that it can't because of an I/O Device error. I'm using a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633J TF03 inside my laptop as my burner. I've included an image of what my screen looks like when I try. Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.

Hmm, I see. Is there anyway to check if my drivers are blocking the commands? Thanks again for the help.

Post the family tree info please.

Right click the drive selection box and you'll find it on that menu. Close the prompt and then just copy + paste everything from the Log window.

You missed the important bit... I need the family tree info. :)

Right click on the drive selection box and pick 'Family Tree' on the menu that pops up. Close the prompt and then copy + paste the log info again please.

My noob is showing. :/  I did just as you asked; I'd never disobey an admin, honest. ;) The prompt stated that there was no family tree data for my drive. Is that suppose to happen? Here's some pics for proof:

Ah, switch your I/O interface back to SPTI and then repeat the process.

Just double check is doesn't work straight off once it's back on the default one anyway please.

Yup, that's it.

Ok so it's on an AMD/ATI controller. Have you tried updating the motherboard/chipset/controller drivers?

Can you check to see if it works in 'Safe Mode' ?

Posted

No dice in safe mode and according to windows, all my drivers are up to date. :/

Don't listen to what Windows says, actually go to the manufacturer's website and download the current ones for your chipset.

Does it come up with exactly the same error in safe mode btw?
