Can't erase Verbatim DVD+R

Hello,

i just downloaded ImgBurn and wanted to burn an iso on my Verbatim DVD+R, which is also new.

 

Before burning i have to erase my disc, but the process stuck at 0%.

After ~20 min, the power calibration area error appeared. I enabled the Debug Mode for a short time.

Why are you trying to erase/format a DVD+R disc? They're 'write once' discs and aren't supposed to be erased/formatted.

 

Whilst I have your attention, update the firmware on your drive to UL06.

I have to erase the DVD+R disc, I don't know why. The programm does it when i want to burn the iso (The Disc needs to be formatted before you can write to it)

I already updatet to UL06 now, but the error still appear.

You're right, and neither do I.  DVD+R discs WILL NOT ERASE, period.  You can only write to them once.  Try another disc.

 

ALSO, post the whole log, not just a part of it.

Don't waste another disc by trying to erase/format it. If the program says it needs formatting then something about your drive/system is reporting that it's a DVD+RW disc - when of course it isn't. That's the problem you need to fix before going any further.

 

Try going into safe mode, load the program and switch to write mode. See what's listed as the 'current profile' in the disc info text on the right. It needs to say DVD+R.
