andy666
Hi Thanks for looking and suggestions. I have wasted two panasonic 50 GB DL BDR burning two different images which I tested with Panasonic DL BD RE and they worked well. I get an error at around 52% with the following input: SK interpretation: Illegal request ASC/ASCQ Interpretation: Invalid address for write. I have attached the log log.txt Edited July 7, 2013 by andy666
andy666
Just to add: I am using Windows 7 and I have Lacie external slim Bluray writer USB 3. I had no problem with Panasonic 25 GB BD RE and 50 GB DL BD RE.It is the Panasonic DL BDR that I am having difficulty with. I also tried the external hard drive on my ultrabook with USB3 and I got similar message but the sectors are slightly different. Here is the new log: I 09:46:35 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! Changing the discs is what I am going to do next but I have bought 20 PanasonicDL BDR discs at an expensive price and it is supposedly a good manufacturer so I am disappointed that this waste of money. I guess I am going to try either another software or change my internal drive from DVd to BLURAY drive. I guess if I have no suggestions here, I will first try a new software and then I will try the Verbatim discs when I receive them before changing the drive..Any suggestions on the above options are very appreciated. Thanks for looking and trying to help me. Andy Edited July 7, 2013 by andy666
ianymaty
Try update the drivers related to the ports. Maybe try another port or new cable. Try the drive on other computer with the same media. Try different media. Does Lacie have any suggestion on what media to use? They should offer some recommendation on tested media. An internal drive is always better than an external. The externals have their reason but aren't much reliable.
andy666
Thanks for the suggestions. As you see, I have tried the drive on another computer and it failed again. I have asked Lacie for Firmware update and apparently there is no updates available. I will try using the USB 2 port (I added USB 3 port to my desktop through a card) and I have also changed the cable as suggested by you and Lacie. I will post again if I am successful. So I guess, if the attempt fails, the next step will be either another media or internal drive. I always had the intention of getting an internal drive, so I guess I will get one if the Verbatim fails. I will have to look at the recommended drives in the forum. Thanks once again. LIGHTNING UK!
Your drive reported a 'write error' first so it's related to your drive/firmware/media combo. If 'max' speed (4x) isn't working well for those discs, try 2x or buy some with a different MID and hope it does a better job on those.
