Adrianvdh Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Hello everyone... I have been Googling for about an hour now and can't fix my problem on how to start windows update services on startup, I have manually tried to get it to work by going into services, and it says "Started: thats all i won't run, I have just reinstalled Windows 7 because I had the same problem before hand, and now again. I have also tried "WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.exe" to fix it and it says it has fixed it and I must restart my computer, so I did and that did not help. Thanks for your time
ianymaty Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Is the source you install a legit untouched image or is it tweeked? Make sure you have internet connection. Check system time and date to be correct. Run Windows Defender or MSE and update them. Try again Windows Update.
Adrianvdh Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 Yes it is, because I have always used this disc for the other installed and it worked fine, now since I bought a 4K 2TB WD drive and installed windows on that it is doing this,
cornholio7 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 for the other installed , do you have a multiple license key?, otherwise you can only use your key on one pc windows will block you and you will get messages about activation
mmalves Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Also might be worth checking that Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is enabled (the default is Manual trigger if I recall correctly).
Adrianvdh Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Never mind guys, I re installed today and it works
Adrianvdh Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 OK wait, I have the problem again, I have discovered that one of my drivers that I need that came with my motherboard or graphics card are doing this, what can I do to prevent it?
cornholio7 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 always get the newest drivers from your motherboard/ gfx card/ etc. from their support pages, the ones that are on driver discs are outdated. uninstall the drivers you have installed and grab the latest ones
Adrianvdh Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) So all the drivers? http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=p7p55d-e+lx Edited July 10, 2013 by Adrianvdh
cornholio7 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 chipset, audio, lan, usb, sata, bios if it isn't the newest on yours
ianymaty Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Even some of those drivers from Asus can be outdated. This site will help to find the latest drivers for your configuration. http://www.ma-config.com/en
Adrianvdh Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Thanks, but I have done so testing and found it is the "Marvell Controller Driver". Do I need this driver/controller?
ianymaty Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 From the specs of your motherboard you linked Marvell® PCIe SATA 6Gb/s controller : *12 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray *1: These SATA ports are for data hard drives only. ATAPI devices are not supported. If you not connecting any drive to those ports you can skip it and disable the controller in BIOS.
