Erasing disc......... and sticks there!

Hi all!

I am new here as I have come accross a problem recently which is driving me nuts!

I use Imgburn with DVD flick, and when I am trying to write a disc the formatting and everything else goes ok, but when it goes over to imgburn, at the bottom of the box its just says:

erasing disc.......

Then nothing else happens and it sticks there.

my log:

I recently burned some memorex +r with no problems and no "erase" messages, they just went straight to burn...But now I try +rw verbitam, Asda brand, Tesco brand and Maxell and all I get is the horrible "eternal erasing" and nothing else happens, as well as having to reboot my laptop because I can't close the program manually.

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

Its just "erasing disc...." and nothing else. It just hangs there.

So there's no % complete mentioned in the status bar of the main window? Formatting would take 15 mins or so.

Right click the drive 'drop down' selection box and click 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and then copy + paste everything from the Log window again please.

Once its doing the "Erasing disc.........." (no % next to it) it wont let me do anything at all, which is why I always have to force shut down and re-boot every time this happens.

I will try again and do as you kindly advised, and hope it works.

Thanks again for all your help.

I'm not asking you to try erasing the disc again, I just need more info about your system (and the 'Family Tree' feature provides it).

Your issue is nothing to do with ImgBurn, so reinstalling won't do anything.

Boot into safe mode and see if the same thing happens.

Don't forget that the erase should take 15 mins. Your log says 14:03 and you posted it at 14:07... that isn't long enough for it to finish.

Stick with the latest version and post the updated family tree info please.

If you're burning automatically from DVD Flick, copy the ImgBurn.exe from ImgBurn's folder into the DVD Flick one and replace the existing (old) version.

Also I can't copy and paste the family tree info for some reason, however I could write it out for you.

Thanks again!

You don't need to copy + paste anything from the family tree prompt, it gets written to the log window - which you can then copy + paste.

Please try and follow what I actually say in my posts and not just what you think you're reading.

Do you really have to be so rude and ignorant?

I have been using imgburn for over a year with excellent results! This problem is only recent. I am 46 years old and you speak to me like a gonk!

I came here for help and did not expect abuse.... I am so sorry to have bothered you!

Dont worry, I wont be back, and thanks for the non existant help......

I will never recommend fellow users to come here for help, just to be insulted.

Bye!
