If they've been converted to flac files, you'll need to update the CUE file so it points to flac files and not the original wav files.

Just do a find/replace on .wav" with .flac"

Posted (edited)

i tried that, it doesn't work.

still "file doesn't exist"

FILE "01 - In Sharky Water.wav" WAVE

to this:

FILE "01 - In Sharky Water.flac" WAVE

i did this to the rest

i also tried:

FILE "01 - In Sharky Water.flac" FLAC

---------------------------
ImgBurn
---------------------------
FILE Doesn't Exist!

File Name: 01 - In Sharky Water.flac
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

still nothing.

Do the files exist in the same folder as the CUE? Are they still called those names? (don't forget to make Explorer show file extensions if it isn't already doing so - you may end up with 'xxxx.wav.flac' or 'xxx.flac.wav' as a name otherwise).

It should be quite easy to work out why it's not working when you have everything there infront of you.

cheer for getting back so quick!

yep, the files are in the same folder location as the .cue.

file extensions were disabled.

i turned them on, still no go.

the track as it appears in the folder:

01.In Sharky Water.flac

this is the .cue file as it looks after i tried replace in notepad:

So the file is called '01.In Sharky Water.flac' but the CUE says it's '01 - In Sharky Water.flac' ?

The names must match exactly.

Can you get a screenshot of the folder in explorer for me please? Use 'Details' view and try to make sure the name column shows the complete filenames.

Upload the actual CUE too please.

i was just thinking the same thing that very minute!

the . and the - are conflicting.

unfortunately i cannot take a screenshot of the window with the files in it, (alt-prtsc).

i was was informed "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

is there another way?

all the tracks are listed like the first:

01.

not

02 -

i attempted editing the cue file by globally removing the - and replacing with . to match up with the tracks in the folder.

still no go.

i tried the reverse.

i edited the tracks in the folder and replaced the . with -

i received this msg:

---------------------------
ImgBurn

Hint: You may need to install some additional DirectShow filters in order to support files of this type or the file might be corrupt.

OK

i downloaded  DSFP-5.1 from www.free-codecs.com

i scanned it and no threats were found.

was that a decent enough source, or is there a better place to grab them?

i extracted it to my programs files directory.

ran the DSFP_inst.bat

nothing.

restarted the computer. tried again.

still nothing :(

uninstalled previous pack.

installed DC-Bass Source Filter

http://dsp-worx.de/?n=15

received this msg:

---------------------------
ImgBurn.exe - Unable To Locate Component
---------------------------
This application has failed to start because OptimFROG.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK

placed the OptimFROG.dll in the DC-Bass Source Filter directory

restarted pc

this:

---------------------------
ImgBurn
---------------------------
AddSourceFilter Failed!

Reason: The source filter for this file could not be loaded.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

placed the OptimFROG.dll in the imgburn directory

restarted pc

same msg.

that's, i'm afraid. i can't think of anything else.

i really hope you can help me get to the bottom of this.

it kind of makes me think "why am i bothering in the first place"

i know, have a cup of tea, a cigarette, a spot of tv/music and wait to hear from you ;)

i downloaded it.

tried to install it.

the readme says "Start "install.bat"

done that

msg says "---------------------------
Information...
---------------------------
The DirectShow filter "madFlac.ax" was registered successfully.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

i assume next i try to run the InstallFilter.exe

when i do, i get this:

---------------------------
Information...
---------------------------
Call me like this:

InstallFilter [-u] filter.ax
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

i have no idea what that could mean.

opened imgburn

loaded the cue

it seemed to work!

burning now

i was led to believe thar cue files can erase the issue that can sometimes arise when gapless files are burned to disc.

would this be correct?

one last thing (apart from my genuine gratitude!):

what made you suggest madflac over the other direectshow packs i used?

Install.bat calls installfilter.exe with the madflac.ax file as the parameter :)

I've personally tried and tested madFlac. It was one of the only flac filters that would decode a flac file and give me a wav file that 100% matched the original wav file.

before i get to bed (i'm tired).

could i wrap this up by asking you something slightly off-topic?

can you recommend a freeware application that easilt converts .mkv / .flv to .avi?

i was looking, but when you're tired you tend to not digest information from these google searches too well ;)

cheers,

baz
