romangcny Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I'm trying to copy a navigation disk that's non protected any cannot get it to read in my truck. I'm using Verbatim dvd+r DL disks, LG BE 14 writer and Imgburn software. I've burned them before using Ashampoo software but my system got corrupted and I had to reformat. Now it wont burn correctly, even on another computer. I'm sort of new at this and dont know what settings I need to adjust. I don't get any errors and it says the burn is good but it won't work in the truck. This is the information from the original disk. Can anyone help me set up Imgburn settings. spinningwheel Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 1. Your disc is not the best for doing what you want to do. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 2. If you had used the search function you would have found this as well as other posts about the same subject: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6380
romangcny Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 I'm using Verbatim disks and Memorex. It's not a disk quality issue. The info I had posted was from the original Ritek copy I had previously used and trying to make a backup from that one. I've also tried the tutorial on your link and it still does not work. It'll burn find but won't work in the vehicles nav system. It's the stock Nav in a 07 Ford F150.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Does it burn and verify ok? If so, there's nothing more we can do. If it doesn't, post the log please so we can see what's what.
romangcny Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Alright, it does burn without any error messages. Can you help me with something else, just before I burn the image file , I try to change the book type. Mine is an LG, I select that, change it for DVD+R DL and then in new setting,I change it to DVD-ROM click OK and get an error message: Failed, invalid field in CDB. What's that?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Please make sure you're actually verifying the disc as part of the burn. The 'writing' phase can appear to complete without error and the disc could still be unreadble. That's why verifying is important. As for the booktype stuff, it's already (automatically) being changed to DVD-ROM, so don't worry about it. Although your drive is branded as an LG, it's using a different chipset to all of their previous BD drive models. The usual LG booktype commands don't seem to be supported by these newer models.
