ToneEQ Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I've been having problems burning XGD3 discs in the last 2 weeks. I've always used Singapore Verbs MKM-003 and have 2 drives, an original IHAS 124B (crossflashed to 524B) and a PLDS 16-ABS crossflashed to an IHAS 124B as a backup. I should mention I've never had problems before, not even when I first started out (I've owned the original IHAS drive since c4eva announced it). I haven't changed any settings in ImgBurn and I've tried ImgBurn 2.5.7.0 and 2.5.8.0. This problem is on 2 different computers, I've tried swapping the drives around and using internal SATA and eSATA ports and I'm still getting this issue.Tried changing to 2.4x and turning off OPC before write too, same error. The discs (seem to) burn OK but ImgBurn won't verify (stop at 50%), ABGX won't verify the disc at all. Could it just be a bad batch of discs?I 18:27:02 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started!I 18:27:02 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Edition (6.1, Build 7601 : Service Pack 1)I 18:27:02 Total Physical Memory: 8,051,828 KiB - Available: 5,894,676 KiBI 18:27:02 Initialising SPTI...I 18:27:02 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 18:27:02 -> Drive 1 - Info: DTSOFT BDROM 1.05 (Y:) (Virtual)I 18:27:03 -> Drive 2 - Info: HL-DT-ST BD-RE GGW-H20L YL07 (Z:) (SATA)I 18:27:03 -> Drive 3 - Info: ATAPI iHAS524 B AL2A (X:) (RAID)I 18:27:03 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM, 1 BD-ROM and 1 HD DVD-ROM/BD-RE!I 18:27:13 Operation Started!I 18:27:13 Source File: C:\Users\XXXXXXXX\Desktop\RECENT XGD3 Release.dvdI 18:27:13 Source File Sectors: 4,267,015 (MODE1/2048)I 18:27:13 Source File Size: 8,738,846,720 bytesI 18:27:13 Source File Volume Identifier: DVD_ROMI 18:27:13 Source File Volume Set Identifier: ef764000MS UDFBridgeI 18:27:13 Source File Application Identifier: CDIMAGE 2.45 (12/06/2000 TM)I 18:27:13 Source File Implementation Identifier: Microsoft CDIMAGE UDFI 18:27:13 Source File File System(s): ISO9660, UDF (1.50)I 18:27:13 Destination Device: [6:0:0] ATAPI iHAS524 B AL2A (X:) (RAID)I 18:27:13 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00)I 18:27:13 Destination Media Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8xI 18:27:13 Destination Media Sectors: 4,267,040I 18:27:13 Destination Media L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520 (Changeable: Yes)I 18:27:13 Write Mode: DVDI 18:27:13 Write Type: DAOI 18:27:13 Write Speed: 2.4xI 18:27:13 DVD+R DL Reserve Track: NoI 18:27:13 Link Size: AutoI 18:27:13 Lock Volume: YesI 18:27:13 Test Mode: NoI 18:27:13 OPC: NoI 18:27:13 BURN-Proof: EnabledI 18:27:13 Write Speed Successfully Set! - Effective: 3,324 KB/s (2.4x)I 18:27:13 Book Type Setting: DVD-ROMI 18:27:13 Advanced Settings - Force HT: No, Online HT: No, OverSpeed: No, SmartBurn: YesI 18:27:13 CD/DVD Life Record Count: 136 - CD/DVD Record Count: 9I 18:27:13 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 2,133,520I 18:27:13 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original DiscW 18:27:13 Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter ListI 18:27:13 L0 Data Zone Capacity - Effective: 2,133,520I 18:27:13 Filling Buffer... RhoTrux64 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Enable Force HT and burn at 4x. The warning is normal. The next line says its ok. Edited September 17, 2013 by RhoTrux64
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Just for good measure, clear the drive's OPC history too.
ToneEQ Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Wow, that worked! Still got one warning "W 18:27:13 Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter List" but it burned and verified in ABGX too. Didn't clear OPC history but I have done now after a successful burn. You are awesome! But I don't understand why the settings were fine before, nevermind, game players of the house are happy again.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 You'll continue to get that one warning until such a time as the drive no longer errors out when doing what the program has asked it to do - and unless they update the firmware again, that'll be forever. Hmm I wonder if you'd still get it if you send the payload to the iHAS B drives running the modified firmware? In theory, you shouldn't as I don't recall the C or D drives erroring out like that.
